A Private Event Book Launch
Michael Standen, reading themed poetry
The launch of Gillian Garnham's novel A Private Event took place at the Literary and Philosophical Society in Newcastle on Thursday, 8th September, 2005.
Brian Lister, of Biscuit Publishing Ltd, started the evening by giving details of the evening before introducing Michael Standen, who read several poems with a French theme.
After the reading, Brian introduced Gillian Garnham, who then presented the winner's cheque of £1,000 to winner Sally Zigmond. Sally had won Biscuit's recent short story competition against strong opposition from writers around the world.
