Toc H Lamp
Thurs 26th June 2008.
This will be a
tri-part programme:
1. Powerpoint slideshow: "A Haven in Hell"
Talbot House (Toc H) and it's role in the Great War, presented by Brian Lister,
with poems by the war poets, Sassoon, Owen, Brooke, etc, read by Jeff Wilson.
Between 1914 -18 poets and writers passed through this place.
Break for
refreshments - Rum, bully beef and hard biscuits if the rations get through!
2. Presentation of the 2007 Poetry and Short Story awards, with readings
3. Presentation of the 2008 Flash Fiction awards, with readings.
Literary
and Philosophical Society, ("Lit and Phil") Newcastle upon Tyne.
