Thackwray, 41, is currently residing in HMP Hull and has been writing seriously
for eighteen months. As a prison writer, he has had a nine-part series and several
short stories published in Inside Time the national newspaper for prisoners.
His work has also appeared in The Big Issue in the North and he regularly
features in Link – the Journal of the National Association of Writers
Groups. His yet to be published
novel, This Way Up, won the David Astor
Outstanding Award at the 2007 Koestler Awards for the arts inside.
